As said….I am going to begin doing restaurant reviews for places here in the CLE. I love blogging and I think this is a way for me to stay somewhat active in the blogosphere and share some cool dig’s in the area.
SO, here is my post about a popular restaurant in Tremont’ - Lucky’s Cafe
During my spring break some I suggested to some lawmates that we try out Lucky’s for lunch before heading to the library, seeing as this local eatery was featured on Food Network with this “Guy“…
andd its a fabulous place that supports all things local!
No doubt I checked the menu the night before (as per usual so I can get excited about my meal for the next day) and already knew that any item marked “Guy tried this” was a contender. I had also heard about the infamous Baked Mac and Cheese (that Guy also tried) and when it popped up on the menu I knew that’s what I was ordering! Can you blame me ?!
Delicious. The baked parts of the dish on top were amazing, and once you were done savoring the baked pasta on the top, you were headed on to the inside of the dish where the creamy, soft cheese was waiting for you
This was sooo unbelievably good I cannot believe it was the first time I had been there!
I was feeling a little under the weather when we went, and decided to have a cup of their Cold/Flu Tea.
I was really trying to capture how big the mug was – because it is a lot bigger than it looks in this picture! I ended up sipping it and using the spoon because if I would have tried to drink it like you are supposed to, I would have spilled everywhere
They also have an awesome selection of baked goods and a coffee bar up in the front…ganache, brownies, tart’s…
AND CAKE!!
I was stuffed from the mac and cheese, but my lawmates decided to order this Black and White Cream Cake/Tart. The server actually suggested that they let it sit out for the cream to soften. Final verdict…..MEH. It was just OK. There wasn’t any particular flavor that stood out. I don’t know if it was because it did not sit out long enough or we were expecting something more from this. I am not into desserts so much so I wasn’t as devastated, but Lucky’s definitely made up for it with the mac and cheese!
We had a really great time and I CANNOT wait to go back for the dish – not to mention the aesthetics of the place – so homey
See you next time Lucky’s
